Total Landcare Malawi - Lilongwe

Total LandCare (TLC) was founded in 1999 by Trent Bunderson, Zwide Jere and Ian Hayes to sustain and expand the successful agricultural and natural resource management programs of a 12-year project funded by USAID – the Malawi Agroforestry Extension Project. Initially the 3 founders linked TLC to Washington State University through Trent Bunderson’s long term affiliation as an associate professor and representative for development programs in Africa. This was short-lived and TLC was registered as a non-profit, non-governmental organization in Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Tanzania. In 2011, TLC was registered in Switzerland as TLC Global to diversify funding opportunities.
