The National Investment Trust Limited (NITL) was established in Malawi as a public company on 20th September 2001 with registration number 6024. The main goal of NITL is to provide a platform for the public to invest in a diverse array of equities in Malawi. NITL has been granted a license by the Reserve Bank of Malawi, in accordance with Section 35 of The Capital Market Development Act. NITL is listed on the Malawi Stock Exchange (MSE), providing a secondary market governed by market forces. The investment portfolio of NITL is managed with the aim of providing shareholders with both income and capital growth. The Board of Directors is aware of potential risks associated with investments, but has implemented an investment policy to minimize these risks by avoiding speculative investments and limiting exposure to individual investments.
