Blantyre Teacher Training College, is the only public teacher trainign college in the whole of southern region of malawi. it is located on the outskirts of Limbe Town, in Blantyre District.
It is one of the oldest public primary teacher training colleges in Malawi. Other public colleges include Machinga TTC, Lilongwe TTC, ST. Joseph's TTC, Kasungu TTC and Katonga TTC.
Before it became a teacher training college, it used to be a constituent college of University of Malawi; then Soche Hill College. Then it had a capacity of training 105 Secondary School teachers who had to be on the campus for a period of 3 years.
In 1972, when the government built a new campus of University of Malawi, in Zomba District, the campus now became a teacher training college.

college is 540 residential student teachers. however, with the increasing demand for primary school teachers, after implementing Free Primary Education (FPE) in 1994, the college is now obliged to train about 900 residential student teachers.Listed in categories
